NEWA in partnership with the Malala Fund organized a half-day workshop for establishing an advisory board for the national girls’ peace forum.

Network of Ethiopian Women’s Associations (NEWA) is implementing a project entitled “Girls Led Peace Initiative” with the Ethiopian Education Champion (ECN) under the Joint Action Girls (JAG).

As part of the project activity, the Network of Ethiopian Women’s Associations in partnership with the Malala Fund organized a half-day workshop for establishing advisory board for the national girls’ peace forum. The main goal of the initiative is to incubate a girl-led peace initiative that enables Girls to have a voice, representation and leadership in the national peacebuilding process.

In her welcoming speech, NEWA’s Executive Directress Mrs. Saba Gebremedhin noted that the aim of the establishment is to ensure a better coordination and active engagement of stakeholders in the national girls’ peace forum. Twenty- five stakeholders from Ministry of Peace, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Women & Social Affairs and CSOs attended in the establishment of the advisory board.
