A women’s organization leaders' joint visit to Tigray was completed successfully.
On the celebration of the IWD, the Network of the Ethiopian Women Association with other several representatives of women’s organizations at a federal level traveled to Mekell and visit different IDP centers. The two-day visit included a visit to Adigrat one-stop center, Ayder hospital, “Mayi woyni”, and “70 kare” IDP centers, and a solidarity meeting among women’s organizations & associations. The aim of the meeting was about to discuss the situation of women and girls in Tigray and future collaborations.
Our Executive Directress Mrs. Saba Gebremedihn and representatives from the network of women shelters (ENWS) & WCDI welcomed and briefed the participants about the solidarity meeting.
The joint visit to Mekele was organized by the Network of Ethiopian Women’s Association (NEWA) in partnership with the Embassy of Canada, USAID/OTI, and EWLA on March 29-31, 2023, and was held at Zemarias hotel, Mekelle.
