With the support of EU EU-funded project and GIZ/CPS, NEWA in collaboration with the International Center for Transitional Justice (ICTJ) organized a web-based and in-person training on “Gender-Sensitive Transitional Justice in Ethiopia: key policy recommendations.

The objective of the training was to sensitize and aware the community of women’s rights advocates and women’s rights organizations to take an active role in shaping the transitional justice policy in Ethiopia.

The four sessions webinar series training was facilitated by Kelli Muddell, who is ICTJ Gender Justice program director. In addition to this, in-depth policy conversation, and writing a comprehensive policy recommendation on gender and transitional justice was also the other major task during the in-person session.

To ensure diversity and meaningful representation the training was delivered to 35 women leaders from various regions of the country. The outcome document will be disseminated to the wider public and handed over to key stakeholders at a national level.
