1 MARCH 6: the issues at hand
According to the ILO, women in #Africa spend 3.4 more time in unpaid care work than men. Without addressing heavy and unequal unpaid care work, it will be near impossible to close the gender gap in the continent.
እንደ ዓለም አቀፍ የሠራተኛ ድርጅት ዘገባ ከሆነ #በአፍሪካ ውስጥ ያሉ ሴቶች ከወንዶች በ3.4 እጥፍ ጊዜአቸውን የማይከፈልበት እንክብካቤ ስራ በመስራት ያሳልፋሉ። ይህን እኩል ያልሆነ የማይከፈልበት እንክብካቤ ስራ ኡእመስራት ጫና ካልተቀረፈ በአህጉሪቱ ያለውን የስርዓተ-ፆታ ልዩነት ማስተካከል አይታሰቤ ነው።
The lack of care-supporting infrastructure, such as household water sources or electricity, increases women’s unpaid care work multiple folds.
Oxfam’s findings from Kenya, Uganda, and Zimbabwe showed that access to improved water sources reduced women’s time spent on care by 1 to 4 hours per day, with the benefits most pronounced in the poorest households.
የቤት ውስጥ የውሃ ምንጮችን ወይም ኤሌክትሪክን የመሰሉ የእንክብካቤን የሚደግፉ መሠረተ ልማቶች አለመኖር የሴቶችን የማይከፈልበት የእንክብካቤ ስራ በብዙ እጥፍ ይጨምራል።
ከኬንያ፣ኡጋንዳ እና ዚምባብዌ የተገኙ የኦክስፋም ግኝቶች የተሻሻሉ የውሃ ምንጮችን ማግኘት ሴቶች በቀን በእንክብካቤ የሚያሳልፉትን ጊዜ እስከ 1 4ተኛ ሰዓት እንደሚቀንስ ያሳያል።
Social norms mean women are expected to do the majority of care work and household chores, resulting in little opportunities outside the home.
Women must have the same opportunities as men in decision-making and how they choose to spend their time.
በማኅበረሰቡ ደንብ መሰረት ሴቶች አብዛኛውን የእንክብካቤ ስራዎችን እና የቤት ውስጥ ስራዎችን እንዲሰሩ ይጠበቅባቸዋል, ይህም ከቤት ውጭ ሊኖሩቸው የሚችሉ መልካም አጋጣሚዎችቻናሳ እንዲሂኑ ያደርጋል። ሴቶች በውሳኔ ሰጪነት እና ጊዜያቸውን እንዴት ማሳለፍ እንደሚፈልጉ ለመምረጥ ከወንዶች እኩል እድሎች ሊኖራቸው ይገባል።
2 MARCH 7: Our WORK
Change starts at home.
Men and boys have a key role to play in ensuring a more equal sharing of unpaid care work within households.
ለውጥ ከቤት ውስጥ ይጀምራል።
በቤተሰብ ውስጥ የሚኖር የእንክብካቤ ስራን በእኩልነት ለማጋራት ወንዶች ቁልፍ የሆነ ሚና አላቸው።
Working with male ‘care champions’, such as cultural or religious leaders, has helped to cascade messages and provide positive examples, challenging existing social norms and limiting perceptions of masculinity.
የሃገር ሽማግሌዎች ወይም የሃይማኖት አባቶች እንዲሁም ሌሎች ወንድ የማኅበረሰብ መሪዎችን ‘የእንክብካቤ አጋሮች’ ማድረግ መልእክቶችን ለማንሳት እና አወንታዊ ምሳሌዎችን ለማቅረብ፣ ያሉትን ማህበራዊ ደንቦች ለመቀየር እና ስለ ወንድነት ያለን አመለካከት ለመለወጥ ይረዳል።
Addressing unpaid care work requires a combination of interventions to create lasting change for women and girls.
The most effective solutions combine care-supporting infrastructure or services together with social norms interventions.
በሴቶች እና ታዳጊ ሴቶች ህይወት ላይ ዘላቂ ለውጥ ለመፍጠር የማይከፈልበት የእንክብካቤ ስራ የሚያመጣው ጉዳትን መፍታት እና የተቀናጀ ጣልቃገብነት ይጠይቃል.
እንክብካቤን የሚደግፉ መሠረተ ልማቶች ወይም አገልግሎቶችን ማስፋፋት እንዲሁም ማህበራዊ ደንቦችን ለመለወጥ መስራት ውጤታማ የሆኑ መፍትሄዎች ናቸው።
3 MARCH 8: the future women deserve
Addressing heavy and unequal UCDW means ensuring a safer, more equal future for women and girls, regardless of where they come from or what their economic status is.

ከየትኛውም የማኅነረሰብ ክፍል ለሆኑ ወይም በተለያዩ የሃብት ደረጃ ላይ ላሉ ሴቶች ይህን ከባድ እና ወደነሱ የሚያደላ የእንክብካቤ ስራ ጫናን መፍታት ማለት አስተማማኝ እና እኩል የሆነ ነገን ማረጋገጥ ማለት ነው።
በየዕለቱ አርአያ ለሆናችሁን ሴቶች ሁሉ ክብር እናሰጣችኋለን። መልካም አለም አቀፍ የሴቶች ቀን!.
If women’s time is freed from too much and too heavy care work, women and girls will have more choice to engage in paid work, go to school, rest, or join community and political activities.
This International Women’s Day, let’s make it happen. It’s about time.
ሴቶች ጊዜ ከመጠን በላይ ከሚወስዱ እንዲሁም ከባድ ከሆኑ የእንክብካቤ ስራዎች ከተላቀቁ, በሚከፈልበት ሥራ ለመስራት, ወደ ትምህርት ቤት ለመሄድ, ለማረፍ ወይም የማህበረሰብ እና የፖለቲካ እንቅስቃሴዎችን ውስጥ ለመሳተፍ የበለጠ እድል ይኖራቸዋል.
